Master Erasmus Mundus in Georessource engineering - EMERALD
A unique consortium
From the beginning of the school year, the University of Liège will be connected to Lulea university (SWEDEN) as well as Freiberg university (GERMANY) and University de Lorraine (FRANCE). This consortium will allow a unique network of excellence for students. This network includes industrial partners such as: Imerys, LKAB and Aurubis. It also includes world renowned associated academic partners:
The two year program is based on a balance between georesources (exploration, characterization and modelling of resources) and the aspect of valorisation ( technical treatment plant, mineral engineering).
Students will study during the first semester at Liège, the second at Nancy, the third at Lulea and then will have to choose for the last semester between Liège, Nancy, Lulea or Freiberg. By the end, they will have to do a job graduation in one of the four partner universities of their choice.
The courses given at the ULg are already exempted under the master civil mining engineer and geologist, who will thus increase its attendance.
However practical work will be organized specifically for Erasmus Mundus students, because of their particular course.
A triple diploma
By the end of the program, 3 diplomas will be delivered to students: The civil mining engineer and geologist ULg, the degree of Master of Science in Engineering Geologist (FRANCE) and the degree of Master in Natural Resources Engineering.
A training of future
The program was established at a strategic moment where Europe leads a number of priority actions in the field of raw materials and where it plans to reinvest in training related thereto.
